Cat of the Week: Smokey

Smokey is a cutie-pie! She is sweet, playful and cuddly.

Smokey is fine with other cats as long as they are not aggressive. She will also be fine as an only cat as she entertains herself with her toys, so be prepared to invest in some furry mice and catnip!

Smokey would do best in a family with children over the age of 10. She is very active and would be a better match for this type of household.

Smokey is spayed and healthy, just waiting for the right home to call her own.

For more information on Smokey, please call 860-379-4141 or email marys.kitty.korner@sbcglobal.net.

Cat of the Week: Samantha (Sam)

Samantha is a vey special girl. She adores people and especially loves to give them head butts.

Poor Samantha had her tail amputated a few months ago, but it hasn't stopped her from being a bright-eyed, cheerful girl (even when she had a silly shaved bottom and a cone). When you walk by her cage, she will chirp to get your attention and purr the second you touch her.

Samantha is also quite a jumper, playing her own version of "The Floor Is Lava" at times as she hops from cage to cage in the kitchen and even onto the top of the washing machine.

Although she thinks people are the best thing since sliced bread, she doesn't feel quite the same about other kitties and would like to be the only kitty in the house.

Please drop by and visit this sweet, plump little girl at our adoption center in Granby.

Samantha is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

Please call 860-379-4141 or email marys.kitty.korner@sbcglobal.net for more info.

Cats of the Week: TJ and Slash (Update: ADOPTED!)

URGENT!! These boys do not have a lot of time....they are in desperate need!

Their owner needs to give them up because of allergies in the home (newborn baby is highly allergic)

She has bottle fed these boys and had them since kittenhood, they have never been separated from each other. They are declawed, healthy, completely vetted, and lived with small children and dogs.

They are extremely affectionate and loving. They would make awesome pets for a caring, cat loving family.

Please call 860-379-4141 or email marys.kitty.korner@sbcglobal.net for more info.

Happy Tails: Angelino and Max (An Update From Their New Mom)

Both boys are doing fine, with each other & with the dog. At the moment, everyone is napping. Both cats are on top of the kitty pen & the dog is lying near me, so they're in the same room.

I haven't tried to pen either cat up at night since the first night when Angelino let himself out later that night. I heard some thumping around & was going to go check on the cats. Angelino greeted me in the upstairs hallway. They're both fine out at night, although Angelino likes to dash up & down the stairs in the middle of the night.

They each have their favorite spots. All in all, I'd say everyone is settling in fine. They greet my husband in the hallway first thing in the morning & join him while he checks his emails & sports pages online. After a bit they come get me so I can feed them. See, they've already learned how to handle the system. lol

I'm still surprised it's been so easy. Just a few hissy fits with the dog & a few kitty to kitty stare downs. Now the cats will touch noses occasionally & the dog can walk past either of them without sending them for cover. I attached a few pictures. It's difficult getting a picture of Max. He's constantly in motion or wrapped on your chest (or neck).

Cat of the Week: Reba (Update: ADOPTED!)

Reba is a very special girl, just slightly over a year old. She wants nothing more in this world than to be held by someone and will make the four foot leap to your shoulder if she decides it is time to be held.

But beware, she has a very unique habit of sucking on your shirt!

Reba also enjoys drinking from the sink and has a tendency to get her whole head under the running water.

She would do well in a home with other cats or as an only cat.

Drop by our adoption center in Granby and visit this sweet little nuzzler.

Reba is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
